Holy Ground Place
When Jesus had spoken these words, He went out with His disciples over the Brook Kidron, where there was a great garden, which He and His disciples entered. And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; for Jesus often met there with His disciples.
John 18:1-2 NKJV (emphasis added)
Jesus was about to be crucified. Before He headed to the cross he wanted one more time with His disciples. So they went to “their place.”
This leads me to ask a question: Do you have a place where you frequently meet with Jesus? A place that is “holy,” dedicated to your time with Him?
Yes, we can be with Jesus anywhere - everywhere actually - for He is alway with us. But there is something special about a place where we consistently meet with Jesus. A place that when we enter we know it is a time of praising, listening, reading and growing.
I am reminded of the movie War Room. In this movie an elderly woman shows her war room to a younger woman. The room dedicated for her to go in and pray and spend time with Jesus. The room where she goes to war with the devil. The younger woman takes the challenge and creates her own war room where she seeks Jesus to help her with the battles of her life. It was a holy place where she knew she would be meeting Jesus … often.
Where is the place you meet Jesus often? If you do not have one, I would encourage you to find that place. Find a place you declare to be holy ground and meet Him there often. If you do, I believe you will see your faith, and even spiritual power grow more than you ever realized.
Meet Him there often.
